To Reach For the Stars

Reaching for the sky
Our arms outstretched
Fingers inching upwards
Itching to touch the stars.

We hope to be the giants
On whose shoulders future
Geniuses will stand to see.

As though the species is trying
To grow in a Lamarckian way.

To reach for the stars.
