The days are growing short, the nights are growing cold, and everyone seeks the warmth and light of the family fire.  The merchants put out their shiniest goods, the churches open their doors to let music and welcome spill out to reach the masses, and people return to the simple joys of good food and giving.  These are the days of Winterfaire, and fair they be indeed.

So it seems [personal profile] ysabetwordsmith is hosting another Winterfaire Market,  a lovely online bazaar of creative goods for sale by their makers in this season of many gift giving holidays.  I'll have a booth there as well, but I figured why not open my own cyber-pasture to the vendors of Winterfaire? If you'd like to set up a booth here, either instead of ysabet's or in addition to it (the cyber-pastures are tesseracted, there are lots of places with shared borders to set up on) simply comment below with a description of your goods, a price range, and a way for customers to catch your ear so you can do business.  Links to etsy or deviantart or such are more than welcome.

Wander through the markets, looking at goods for sale, and if you can't find that perfect something, ask the shop-keep about it!  Shoppers are welcome to reply to this post as well, asking for assistance creating that special something for your special someones.

The stars are out, there's a nip in the air, and streamers of bright colors flutter in the crisp breeze.  Lights are shining in windows, the scent of pine and cinnamon combine to advertise the celebration of rebirth and renewal.  Someone is singing around the corner, and a merchant offers you a sample of cider or cocoa. His neighbor holds up a shining treasure for your approval... it's Winterfest time again.

Story Seed Tag

I'm starting a new tag for short, snippitly bits that aren't long enough to qualify as stories, but might become them.  There's several reasons for this, the first of which is I need a place to put them so I can find them again.  Another reason is that someone else might be inspired by them, and I'm all for the propagation of more fiction.  If you're so inclined, anything in the "Story Seed" tag is free game to use as a jumping off point for your own work, no permission required.  Grab it and go, folks, grab it and go.  Thirdly, any story seed might also be something someone wants to see me write more of, and commissions are always open.

If you like something in a story seed and want to see it grow into an actual story-bush, just tell me you'd be interested in buying an expanded version, and give me a budget to stay in for my rates ($0.02 US per word, on average).  If I wind up writing significantly more than your offer, I'll post your part, open the rest of the story for crowd funding, and we'll go from there.

Every so often, I'll "open the garden" for a Free Prompt Day and do some expansions just because I can.

Boosting a Sale

So, [personal profile] ysabetwordsmith  has a half-price sale over in Polychrome Heroics, and in addition to being a great series with awesome representation, this sale is to raise funds for the replacement of a computer.  As I have a long history of getting out of tech-related mishaps by the skin of my teeth, I feel this is a good time to pay back into the karmic cycle, and I'll be offering short poems as a bonus to anyone who buys a poem from Ysabet!

Go buy fun art, and then come tell me and get some free art too!

The Crowdfunding Creative Jam is back, and I'm here writing for it!

The theme is Creation and Destruction  this time, so give me your prompts and I'll do my best to fill them!

Reaching for the sky
Our arms outstretched
Fingers inching upwards
Itching to touch the stars.

We hope to be the giants
On whose shoulders future
Geniuses will stand to see.

As though the species is trying
To grow in a Lamarckian way.

To reach for the stars.

This is the landing page for all the things left over from various sales, bingos, and jams. Here will be a continually updating list of things you can buy and their current prices. At the end of each month, I'll have a clearance poll and post one thing from here for free, based on reader feedback.

~The Register~

For buying your goodies!  Click here to get to my PayPal and pay for what you want to buy.  Let me know what you want and what name/username to shout out too, and I'll post your purchase post-haste!

Tip Jar~

The link above is my tip jar, adding a bit of cushion to my life's finances.  Because it's extra that doesn't go to a specific thing, I'll keep track of the tip jar and run polls for when I get a fair amount of random change. That's based on you all, so it's not a regular schedule, but if at least three things are under the amount in the jar, I'll run a poll.  Italics on the title means it's going to be up next in the tip jar polls.

I'll be doing the Crowdfunding Creative Jam this time around, and the theme is Black Swans.  I'll be taking any prompts you want to toss my way, as well as filling some that are posted on the comments of the Crowdfunding Creative Jam's main thread.  All prompters I fill for get a free private copy of what comes of the prompt, and I'll post a list with prices here.  Remember you can toss a few dollars out of the price towards something and I'll keep the post updated to the amount funded, so everyone can see how much is left to finish funding.
